Thank you for considering taking part. There is no cost and no obligation. Read this over whenever suits you, and decide in your own time.
What the device is
It's a device you use through direct skin contact — you rest against or hold a conductive surface, similar to an "earthing" or grounding pad, but an improved version of one. In simple terms, it supplies the body with a small negative electrical charge (electrons) through that contact.
Why there's reason to think it may help
The Earth carries a steady negative electrical charge and an enormous supply of free electrons. Earthing, or grounding, is the long-standing idea that direct contact with the Earth — bare feet on soil, for instance — lets the body take in some of those electrons.
The main proposed reason this might matter involves oxidative stress. Inflammation and many kinds of chronic pain involve unstable "free radical" molecules that damage tissue because they are missing an electron. A supply of electrons may neutralize some of these molecules — a bit like a dietary antioxidant, but delivered electrically through contact. Less oxidative stress could mean less inflammation, and in turn less pain, steadier sleep, and better mood and energy.
This isn't only a tidy theory. A number of small scientific studies have reported real signals — better-flowing blood, faster recovery from muscle soreness, lower markers of inflammation, and improved sleep. Being straight with you matters here: those studies are mostly small and preliminary, and the effects haven't yet been confirmed in large, rigorous trials. The fair summary is that the benefits are unproven, not disproven — promising enough to take seriously and test properly. That is exactly what this trial is for.
What we've seen so far
Several people have used the device informally and reported meaningful changes — less chronic pain, better and less interrupted sleep, and improvements in mood. These reports are genuinely encouraging, but they are anecdotal: they could reflect a real effect, the natural ups and downs of how people feel, or the well-known placebo effect. That uncertainty is precisely why we've decided to expand to a larger, more structured trial — to get a clearer picture of how broad these effects are and how large.
What taking part involves
- Using the device as directed over the trial period. It's simple and non-invasive — just contact, nothing you swallow or apply.
- Answering short surveys — a brief daily check-in within about an hour of waking, plus occasional longer comparison questions spread out over time.
- A few simple, painless physical tests from time to time — for example grip strength, a quick reaction-time task, resting heart rate, and weight. Nothing invasive, nothing that draws blood.
The surveys and tests are how we measure any effects objectively, rather than relying on impressions alone.
What it costs you — nothing
- There is no cost to take part. All equipment is provided free of charge.
- In exchange, we simply ask that you complete the surveys and the simple physical tests through the trial.
- If you find the device useful, you are welcome to keep it at the end of the trial, free of charge.
A few honest notes
- Taking part is entirely voluntary, and you can stop at any time.
- This is a wellness device, not a medical treatment. Nothing here is a promise of benefit or a substitute for medical care — if you have a health condition or take medication, please keep following your doctor's advice.
- You may notice a lot, a little, or nothing at all. All of those outcomes are useful to us. Honest answers — including "no change" — are far more valuable than enthusiastic ones, because the whole point is to find out what is real.
